My handsome boy! Who hates naps!!!
Here are several of my favorite pictures from Sam's 3 month photography session. It was hard to choose from the 60+ pictures. He's even bigger now! That boy is growing. He's a piggy. He's also started a slightly annoying habit that we hope to break soon. He sleeps like an angel at night but HATES NAPS...with a passion. At night we put him to bed around 7:30 and wake him around 10:30 for a quick bottle. He sleeps through the night and wakes anywhere between 6:30 and 8:30 in the morning.
But he despises naps!!! He will be snoring in my arms, eyes closed and limp as a noodle. The minute I gently place him in his crib he starts screaming bloody murder. Sometimes he will cry for 10-15 minutes before he finally collapses from exhaustion. He will even wake up to scream. Today he was screaming in his sleep. I peeked in his room, and he let out a scream and immediately fell back asleep. He usually only fights naps, but he has now started the same routine at night. I went jogging tonight while Spencer fed him. I came back around 7:15 to Sam screaming and crying in his crib. It only lasted about 5 minutes, but it is tortuous (and a little maddening) to hear! I did some research, and it looks like he may be crying from exhaustion or the need to be comforted by us. My mom gets on to me for holding him too much. She worries that I am spoiling him...maybe she is right...but I don't care! :) Holding my sweet Sambo is one of my favorite pastimes. We will get through this phase.

Happy Friday!
Forgive the spit bubbles! I was just really excited and happy.
We had fun at Buddy and Susu's. Buddy is on the road to recovery.
Love my sweet boy's profile.

I'm going to Jackson...
Look out Jackson town!
Sam made his first trip to Mississippi last weekend to visit his great grandparents and great aunt and uncle. He has a lot of family there, and we want him to always remember his Mississippi roots.
Mississippi or Bust!
Panda and cow kept him entertained during the three hour trip. We made a few stops so that I could ride in the back and feed him a bottle.
MeMe was so excited to meet Sam for the first time. She and Lisa almost fell out of the front door when we pulled up.
Lisa can't wait to take Sam to some Mississippi State games.
Pappaw could not figure out who Sam looked like.
Smiling at his great grandmother. So sweet.
Gazing at Meme.
We had fun sitting on the porch. It was a beautiful day, and Meme and Pappaw have a gorgeous yard.
Proof that Rob was there to meet Sambo! He was getting over a cold, so he didn't want to hold him.
It's wear your favorite gingham outfit day!
Pappaw, Spencer and Sam took a stroll through the yard. This picture is special. Not many people can say that they met one (let alone two) of their great grandparents. I am so happy for Sam that he has that opportunity.
It's unbelievable to me how proud I am of every single milestone in Sam's life, no matter how big or small. I am proud when he smiles. I am proud when he coos in his bed. I was proud when he moved from size 1 to size 2 diapers. But I love nothing more than watching others LOVE Sam. It makes me so proud and happy for him. I want him to always feel that special love from family and friends.
Pooped after a long day!

Newborn No More!
Sam turned 3 months old today and said goodbye to his newborn days. Three months of age is the threshold when babies turn from newborns to infants. He is much more alert now and has found his hands. He likes to swat at things (including his bottle and panda) and will often put his hands in his mouth. He also coos much more now. Bath time is his favorite. After his bath last night, he was practically singing he was cooing so loudly.
Goodbye swaddle! Sam is sleeping without his swaddle for the first time tonight. He woke me up at least 5 times last night (and Spencer two or three times) with both arms outside of his swaddle. He fights his way out so often we have decided he does not need it. I think he will sleep much better.
Nana took this picture last week while she was babysitting. Her camera takes great pictures.
She also took this sweet photo. I love his profile. He looks so concerned. :)
Birthday boy!
Such a sweet face. I could take picture after picture of it.
I can't stop. There are many, many, many, many more where these came from.
His hands are one of his favorite toys.
He spent a lot of time on his playmat today, and he seemed to enjoy it much more. I think his vision is stronger.

Get Well Buddy!
Sam and I made a special trip to visit Buddy last week. I got a few sweet shots of Sam in Buddy's lap. He is on the road to recovery!
Our Easter Bunny
Susu and Buddy gave Sam his first Easter basket and included were an adorable pair of bunny ears. Yes, Spencer and I took over 20 pictures of Sam with his Easter bunny ears on. We thought they were so cute, they deserved their very own slideshow. Included at the end are a few extras from our day out with Tee on Good Friday. Enjoy!

Tee Time!
Spencer, Sam and I spent the night at Tee's on Saturday night. The Langs came over, and we celebrated Spencer's birthday.
On our way to Tee's! Sam talked to/battled Panda the whole way there.
Proud Tee!
Two special gingers!
Poppie and Nana came over Sunday night and brought us dinner from Zoe's. Nana babysat yesterday so that I could run some errands and get ahead with work. GG should be here soon to keep Sam today and tomorrow. He has wonderful grandparents who love him very much!! He is one lucky little boy!
