Howdy GG and Big Daddy
Last weekend we made a trip to visit GG and Big Daddy. Sam had never met Matthew and John Allen, so this was a pretty important trip. We had a wonderful time and had a delicious meal. Spencer and I were supposed to bring squash casserole. Unfortunately we ran out of time and did not make the casserole. But fortunately we found a KFC and bought some yummy mac and cheese and slaw.
Thank you KFC!
Sam was shocked at his piano playing ability.
Sam is victim of the GG squeeze!
Where is everybody?
Act like you love each other!
Sam's head looks almost as big as John Allen's and Matthew's!
This picture is actually funny. We were all laughing (including Bryant) when I snapped it. It must have been a while since Bryant last held a baby, and he tried to awkwardly wedge Sambo between the cushions for support. It did not work, but it was a funny site.
A picture of the delicious cake GG made from scratch before we devoured it.
We had fun playing outside with the doggies. Sambo got hot so we had to stay in the shade.
Sambo and Big Daddy.
Sam had a bizarre fascination with the duck on Big Daddy's shirt. He fixated on it and tried to eat it. The colorful duck must have really "popped" against his white shirt. Needless to say, after the duck appeared we were unable to get Sam to look at the camera.
Lucky grandboy!
Nana and Poppie came to visit last week, and we snapped some sweet pictures. We had yummy Zoe's again, and Nana babysat. This time she was in front of the camera.
Say CHEESE everybody!!
Can you say JOY? Sam was loving playing with Nana. He was all smiles.
I love Sam's sweet hand gently on Poppie's shoulder.
Sam loves to be rocked by Nana.
Grandparent hug!
Cuddle time with Poppie.
My first Mother's Day
I had a wonderful first Mother's Day. Spencer brought me breakfast in bed, and then we went to Mass as a family. Sam is so good during church. We then met Tee for a delicious brunch at Ore (our favorite place), and then headed to Zoe's 4th birthday party. A perfect Mother's Day!
Family brunch pic!
Tee time!
Mal, Vann and my boy!
Please ignore this horrible picture of me. I couldn't resist posting this picture of Sambo in his hat! I love his hand.
Sweet boy and his daddy in the pool. This was Sambo's first time at a pool. We dipped his feet in, and he wasn't crazy about it. The water was too cold.
Sammie and Juan.
Birthday girl and Spencer.
Happy birthday sweet Zoe!!

Orange.
Doctor said that Sam could start having baby food, so today he ate carrots for the first time. He didn't eat them. He devoured them.
Orange you glad he was wearing orange?
He's serious about some carrots.
D-day.
Sambo had to get 3 shots today. The worst part of it was that he was in such a good mood this morning. He was even cooing and smiling at the doctor and nurse.
Here he is before his weigh-in. He was so happy!
Big boy is BIG!! Doc says that his body is catching up with his head. Yay Sam!
Sam thinks we are going home. He's been weighed and checked out by the doctor. I got him dressed, but we still had one more thing to do before we left...those infamous SHOTS.
Post-shots. If looks could kill. Thank goodness we had his nuk.
Do my eyes deceive me or is Sam giving me a hand signal of some kind?
And we're outta there!
Cool dude.
Being this cool is not easy. Sam LOVES to ride in his stroller but he HATES the bright sun. The shades have helped. I only wish it were cooler. The doctor gave us the go ahead today for sunscreen, so that will make me feel better when it's really sunny.
He's out. This is how I usually find him at the end of our stroll.
Girl crazy!
The ladies cannot keep their hands off of Sambo. On Monday we went to visit my childhood friend Katie and her son Rhett. They were in town from Chicago. Rhett is 13 months old and was all over the place. I cannot wait until Sam is walking (I think). We had a lot of fun. Sam seems particularly interested in other children.
Ladies love him!
Sam loved Katie. He was flirting big time!
I had actually never seen him act that way around a new person. It was cute.
Rhett meets Sam.
Rhett kept trying to get into the car seat with Sam. Sam must be really laid back. He never got irritated, even though Rhett stepped on him a few times.
Right after this picture was taken, Rhett stuck his finger in Sam's mouth and hooked it around Sam's gums and PULLED. I was scared Sam was going to lose it, but he is cool under pressure. He made a face and teared up a little. But he shook it off like a brave boy.
Day with Buddy.
On Wednesday Buddy and Susu came through McCalla. Buddy was able to stay half the day with us.
Thank you.
