His hair has gotten darker

His sweet little head is so cute. It's perfectly round. I asked the nurse to tell me what she could see as he was being born. She told me that he had light hair. I think it has gotten darker, but it still has red highlights.

After my first bath!

I think this is the first time he had his eyes wide open. We think he may have Spencer's eyes. I really can't tell at this point. He just looks like a precious newborn to me. Either way, he is adorable!

I am a week old today!

Spencer and Sam

This was taken the day he was born. We were about to watch Alabama win the national championship. January 9, 2012 could not have been more perfect for Spencer.

The more sentimental, the better!

Here is a shot of Sam's dresser that was used by both Spencer and his mother when they were little. You can also see the cross that Eleanor gave him and the lamp and lamb passed down from Georgi's boys. His Nana and Poppie gave us the sweet picture on the wall. It shows a little boy with his mother and father. Spencer gave it to his dad years ago, and it was thoughtfully returned for Sam. The little booties on the dresser were worn by Spencer's dad from the hospital. Sam will also wear them once he is born. Notice Judo's bed beside the glider (on loan from the Cargiles). He loves this room. I had to make sure he had a special place too!

Sam's room is officially ready for use!

Here is a picture of Sam's bed. I love his sweet bedding (bought by his Tee, my mom). It's so soft and clean - ready for him when he arrives. You can see his little bouncy chair and teddy bear mobile.

Here is his changing table, which was passed down by Georgi. She also gave me these baskets. She is an expert at organizing and raising little boys. She knew they would come in handy. Sam has received a lot of stuffed animals, so Spencer installed this shelf. Sam will now have a good view of all his stuffed friends while we change his diapers.

Here you can see Sam's bookshelf already filled with lots and lots of special books. And yes, the picture frames do have pictures of random people that we do not know. It makes Spencer laugh, but in due time the frames will be filled with pictures of Sam! You can also see the plaque above the closet that my mom bought him. It reads "I Love You To The Moon and Back." Ele added a sweet touch to his room. She tied together the S-A-M from his shower and hung it on his closet.

Best Dressed Award!

Sam is fortunate to have lots of little boys ahead of him. We are well stocked with adorable clothes, some new and some passed down. There is more where this came from. We have boxes and boxes of clothes in the attic. And thanks to the diaper shower thrown by Buddy and Susu, we also have plenty of diapers and wipes to take Sam through his first year or so (we hope!).

It's really real!

Spencer and I got to see Sam and heard his heartbeat for the first time on May 26, 2011. It's hard to believe this "blinking light" (as Spencer called it) will soon be here.

Judo loves Sam

Judo and Sam are already best friends. Here he is asleep on my stomach on October 21.

He's a hunk already!

This is a 3D picture of Sam from November 10. I think he has Spencer's mouth. He was not very cooperative. This was our third attempt to get a good 3D picture. His leg and foot are beside his head.

I'm Pregnant!

I'm pregnant! Obviously we needed some serious proof to believe it was true. To say that we were happy is an understatement. We were ecstatic but also panicked/shocked.
